Simoncino (AKA Nick Anthony) from Italian super edit label No More Hits crosses the atlantic and finds a new home with On The Prowl's sub-label Party Breaks. What immediately stands out upon first listen is the production style, not being able to tell what is a sample and what has been replayed... much like Tensnake's mega hit. The Simoncino sound is firmly rooted in proto-house and 80's R&B. With ingredients like ancient drum machines, arpeggiated melodies, and cheap 80's pads, his concoction boils over with a certain cheekiness that makes listeners grin from ear to ear. All four tracks are subtle hits in their own right. Excellent EP!
