about

The new OTP Party Breaks arrives as a split release, UK's Andy Ash delivering two tracks on the A-Side and NYC's Runaway giving us a one track B-Side.

Andy Ash returns to the studio after his acclaimed double 12" pack for Stilove4music with two mega edits. First up we have De De's "S&M", which Andy simply transforms into a slow jacking anthem that chants "S&M...Love Me Beat Me I'm a Freak". If that weren't enough, the inside cut warms our hearts with a rework of Timmy Thomas's beloved song "Why Can't We All Live Together". Andy tastefully layers some trippy drum programming underneath and uses all the key organ and vocal elements to the fullest of their potential. Great track!

On the B-Side Runaway returns to their sampling bag of tricks with "D-Time". All the Runaway edit goods are present, disco break, layered loops, piano phrase, smeared with effects that push it over the edge in a big dance-floor way. The Runaway guys have been hammering this one out for a while, and the piano stabbing breakdown is a site to see when it's unleashed over a big sound system.
